Gérard Mestrallet, new Vice-President at H2V
“Help define the strategy in France and Europe and find new partners”: that is how Alain Samson, the founder of H2V Industry, describes the task he has set for Gérard Mestrallet, the new Vice-President of this independent developer of hydrogen production projects, in charge of constructing several plants in France.
H2V Gérard Mestrallet has been appointed as Vice-President of the Supervisory Board of H2V, working alongside the company’s founder and President, Alain Samson. Seventy-two-year-old Gérard Mestrallet studied at the Ecole Polytechnique engineering school and France’s prestigious National School of Administration, the ENA, as well as graduated from the Toulouse Institute of Political Studies (IEP) and National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC). He is the former CEO of Suez and Engie, the co-chair of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC) and a senior advisor at CVC Capital Partners. He was recently appointed by the President of the French Republic as Executive Chair of AFALULA, the French Agency for the Development of AlUIa (Saudi Arabia), in cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He was Chairman and CEO of the Suez company and of GDF Suez (now Engie) at the time when Suez merged with Gaz de France in 2008.
